On Saturday, the Deeper Christian Life Ministry launched Young Eagles Soaring, an empowerment program to help youths learn professional skills.
The Superintendent of the Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi flagged off the Programme attended by thousands of youths from all religions at the Deeper Life Camp Ground, Eyenkorin, Asa Local Government Area, Kwara State.
According to the church, the program involved teens, students, Corps members, and young adults.
Kumuyi, who was visiting the state for a seven-day crusade, said that his mission was to be a blessing through special supernatural deliverance for all people through Christ.
“My mission is not to only engage Christian youths and Muslim youths, but all youths.” He stated that he wanted to “open the eyes of young people and show them who and what they could be.”
The cleric said that the programme was inspired by recent engagements I had with young people from Nigeria.
Kumuyi addressed the youth and said that each human being is created by God with talent. He encouraged them to use their talents to achieve success in life.
I challenge you to fly like an Eagle, and soar in the sky with determination. He said, “You have the grace to achieve, be a goal-getter, look at models, and show endurance.”
During an interview, Prof. Olurotimi Fanyeye, Campus Coordinator and Programme Head said that the program was crucial because of the limitations people face.
Fayeye, an animal science professor at the University of Ilorin said that Kumuyi helps youth see what they can achieve and how to do it.
“Pastor Kumuyi provided them with information that is the first step in achieving their goals in life. This is how the program is viewed. It is eye-opening for the youth. The pastor told them to be determined, and to soar like Eagles.
He stated that the program was sustainable and that youth would attend the Impact Academy monthly to continue their education.
Dr Sunday Adewara (State Coordinator, Deeper Life School Outreach) stated that the youth would be given practical solutions in order to prepare them for their future career.
