Buhari Calls on Media for Responsible Reporting

President Muhammadu Buhari has charged the Nigerian media to be to blame in their use of the press freedom being enjoyed below the most modern democratic dispensation.

He wired that from the outset of his administration in 2015, it was made particular that ‘‘press freedom is an irreducible minimum in a democracy that will presumably flourish’’, adding on the bogus hand that such freedom needs to be aged responsibly.

The president, in a launch on Friday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, congratulated the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on the results of their seventh triennial delegates’ convention which saw the re-election of Chris Isiguzo for a 2nd term in situation of job as president.

Pondering the ambitious characteristic the media play in shaping and influencing the direction of events in any society, the president reminded the NUJ management that the nation will continue to ogle up to their contributors for beautiful, balanced and aim journalism.

President Buhari advised the media to forge elevated team spirit in the union, exhaust in productive dialogue to resolve any teach inimical to the progress of the affiliation.

The president assured the newly elected executives that the most modern administration will uphold and unrelentingly safeguard the watchdog characteristic provided for the media in the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
